일반 ‘CANVAS’ 원단과 TRVR에서 사용하는 ‘WAXED CANVAS’의 대조 사진입니다. 19세기 중반부터 20세기 중반까지 많이 사용되었던 왁스 캔버스 소재는 스코틀랜드의 Sailing 산업에서 사용되어져 왔다고 합니다. 원단의 내구성을 높여주고 방수기능까지 있어, 과거에는 많이 사용되었으나.. 현재는 다양한 신소재들로 대체되어 수요가 줄어들었다고 합니다. 하지만 캔버스가 가지는 다양한 매력을 신소재가 대체할 수 없기에 TRVR의 많은 제품에서 사용되는 재료입니다.
This photo is a result of comparing with ‘canvas’ and ‘waxed canvas’. Widely used from the mid-19th century to the mid-20th, the product which originated in the sailing industry in Scotland, became widely used by many for waterproofing. However, it is now replaced by many advanced materials. But we believe advanced materials can’t replace waxed canvas.
